Stretch bracelets for days
There are so many types of bracelets out there and fashion trends come and go but what you can always count on are stretch bracelets!
They are super easy to wear, versatile, look great by themselves or stacked for a layered look. If taken care of, they will last you a long time.
Stretch bracelets are handmade generally from an elastic stretch cord or you can come by bracelets that are made from “stretch floss” which is made from multiple strands of stretchy material that are woven together. This means essentially when they do start wearing out and the threads will fray until the bracelet is hanging on by a single thread. I wouldn’t rule them out completely just to be mindful of signs of wear and tear.
When putting on and taking off your stretch bracelets always roll it over your hand without excessive pulling as you want your bracelet to last and not overstretch it.
It is always best to avoid soap, perfumes, hair and skin products, sunscreen, and saltwater as these factors can contribute to the breakdown of your lovely stretch bracelets.
You want them to last so it’s nice to be taking care of them.
When purchasing a stretch bracelet look for one that has its beads nice and close together not far apart as this means the bracelet was not pre-stretched before and more than likely will stretch out from the first it’s worn and more prone to breaking.
I would avoid wearing them 24/7 like wearing them to bed or when working out at the gym or any other high-intensity workouts this ensures the longevity of them and save you from a possible injury!
As an extra side note, it is always nice to keep them in draw bags or jewellery boxes to protect from dust and dirt that may fly around.
I hope you have found this helpful and as a maker and lover of stretch bracelets I wanted to share some helpful tips and tricks to maintain the longevity of your lovely jewellery, so you are able to get years out of wearing them.
