The sun enters Aquarius from January 20th allowing our minds to explore the unusual and left-of-field aspects of life. Aquarius is Latin for “Water-pourer” and their symbol a mystical healer who bestows water to the land.

Aquarians are ruled by Uranus, the planet of invention, innovation, space travel, and aerodynamics. They are often referred to as the eccentrics of the zodiacs with a drive for social justice and humanitarian needs. They want to save the world and have the intellectual smarts of an Air sign to help make the change. It's not uncommon for Aquarians to embrace their creativity and uniqueness, making them stand out from others in an unconventional way. This quality tends to draw them toward anything new, interesting, or "out there," such as edgy fashion, sci-fi, the new age, and the latest technology. Not one for "going with the flow", Aquarians make their own mind up, their own rules, and then stick to it. You can not persuade them from their viewpoint unless you have facts and evidence to back yourself up.

While Aquarians are definitely more open-minded than other fixed signs, they also have a tendency to be stubborn especially when it comes to the ideas that they share with others. While more often than not it's they believe they come up with the best ideas, they aren’t always the best at handling people who have different viewpoints from them especially when such views are in opposition to their own.

Now more than ever the energy of Aquarius is needed to help navigate through the changes the world is currently undergoing. As Aquarius is the most humanitarian astrological sign, these revolutionary thinkers support “power to the people '', aspiring to change the world through radical social progress. Sometimes more than often are way ahead of their time.  Aquarians are free-spirited and do not take kindly to authority with a nonconformist attitude meaning they can be quite rebellious and will not hesitate to go against powerful people and institutions especially when it comes to correcting social injustice! We can see now over the past few years, the rise of Aquarian energy within society and the call for changes in how society lives and how we connect with each other.

These water bearers can be so focused on world events that they may neglect their family and friends, which can lead them to the reputation of being aloof. This is simply because they are so deeply motivated by the spirit of a classless society, enjoy spending time with communities of like-minded people. They also deeply value their independence and mix this with their strong sense of self. Aquarians believe that they can forge their own paths and succeed as long as they keep themselves informed and open-minded.

As an air sign, Aquarians are natural conversationalists and are quite sociable. Although Aquarians tend to know a lot of people and may seem like they have a lot of friends, they only really open themselves up to a select few, like-minded, individuals who have the same values and beliefs as them.

Aquamarine emits a very calming energy that is perfect for anyone as it is an excellent stone for calming the nerves and easing anxiety. As Aquamarine is connected to the throat Chakra the calming stone works well with Aquarians as it encourages and helps them to speak honestly and share the truth-seeking knowledge they have gained. It helps to sharpen the mind, which is helpful when Aquarians are in a passionate debate or presentation about a particular topic or preparing a presentation for work, or gearing up for a debate.

And Jupiter aligns with Mars

Then peace will guide the planets

And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius”
